About Us

Derek Jordan, President of Jordan Geomatics, PLLCDerek A. Jordan (TN Professional Land Surveyor # 2576)
President of Jordan Geomatics, PLLC.

Derek was born and raised in southern middle Tennessee.  It was during his high school career that Derek was introduced to Land Surveying through Mr. Richard Raper as he worked part time on a field survey crew.  In 1997 he graduated from Tullahoma High School (with honors) and went on to attend the University of Tennessee (Knoxville) on a scholarship from the United States Army Reserve Officer Training Corps.  In this capacity he was awarded the opportunity to attend the U.S. Army Infantry Training School at Fort Benning, Ga., where he completed the Airborne Course during the summer of 1999 and earned his basic military Parachutist Wings.   Derek went on to graduate from UT in 2002  with a Bachelor’s of Science, but his love of the outdoors and analytical nature drew him back to Tullahoma and the Land Surveying field.  Derek again worked with Mr. Raper as a Land Surveyor in Training and in 2006 had satisfied all of the education and practical requirements to sit for the Professional Land Surveyor’s exam and Jordan Geomatics, PLLC was born.

Since 2005 Derek has been involved in both volunteer and Career Firefighter aspects with the Tullahoma Fire Department.  In 2010 he decided it was time to focus more on his family and business life  and “hung up his boots” as a full-time firefighter.   He is eternally grateful for the opportunities he has had to serve his community and hopes to continue to do so in many aspects for years to come.

Derek lives in Tullahoma with his loving wife Sarah, German Sheppard Bunker and is a member of the Tennessee Association of Professional Surveyors, the National Federation of Independent Business, the Tullahoma Area Chamber of Commerce, and is a proud member of Tullahoma Lodge 262, F&AM.
